Nautical Girl...

Ahoy matey!!

Hi, today I have been playing with Paper Dolls!!  I went Nautical because I had some cute designer paper from Ocean Breeze collection from Best Creation Inc.

The Paper Dolls are rubber stamps designed by Julie Nutting.

They are sold by Prima Marketing Inc., and this Paper Doll's name is Olive.

Many of the Doll stamps are used to create tags, and Prima also sells the Tag Pad which is part of the Julie Nutting collection.

It's so fun creating these Paper Dolls, I used the Baked Brown Sugar DSP as the background for this doll.

They are so fun to dress up, and I added some little embellishments from the paper pad, the sailboats, the life vests, and please notice her shoes have a life vest with a rhinestone in the middle.  So this little Nautical girl is stylin' in the shoe department!!

This Paper Doll is only one of many that has been designed by Julie.  If you do a search on Pinterest     for Julie Nutting Art, you will see many ways of creating using these Paper Dolls and other forms of Mixed Media.

I hope you enjoyed the Paper Dolls today, there will be more popping up!!
Thanks so much for stopping by today!!

Oh Baby Baby Baby!!!

Oh hello there!

I'm participating again in Papertrey Ink's Make it Monday Challenge #120!

Here is my card:

The technique today is Overlapping Ombre, and if you click on the link above, you can watch a video on how to create this look.
Here is the card Nichole creates in the video:

This makes for a bright, clean and quick birthday card!!

Now back to my Baby Baby Baby card!!  I love this little set from Papertrey Ink.  It's called Polka Dot Parade #4 Mini Stamp Set and this set has matching dies.  How cute is that teddy bear?!?!?!?

I did the Ombre Overlap in Pool Party, Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay.  The Distressed Dots are stamped in Baked Brown Sugar (all colors are from Stampin' Up!).
And don't you love that color name?  Baked Brown Sugar??  Yum!!!

I love this color combo!  Oh, and here I am going to mention my "Moving Forward" goal to be healthier.  Today I had Trader Joe's Roasted Vegetable Lasagna for lunch.  Yes, that is my healthy bit for today (but I didn't check the nutritional value!).

Here is the inside of the card, Hello Sweet Baby.  While I was making this card, I was wondering if I will have another grandchild some day.  I have two precious grandchildren, and I know my son and his wife are busy with two, just wonder if there will be a #3....  :-)

And here is the matching envelope!  I'm loving the matching envelopes, I just think it adds to the cuteness!!
Thank you for stopping by today!!  I'm putting my cards on my Etsy site Schalk's Card Schoppe, just in case you are interested in making a purchase!

Have a FABULOUS day!!

Regarding Dahlias....

Hello You!!
Today I have a card I made using my new favorite stamp set from Stampin' Up!

The stamp set is called Regarding Dahlias.

The colors I used are Very Vanilla and Basic Black, and my favorite newsprint DSP!!

Can you see that I also used an embossing folder?  It's also from Stampin' Up! and  it's called Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

And I mentioned that I was going to go out and walk the other day, Oh, that would be yesterday!!  And amazingly - I did just that!  It was a beautiful sunny day, so I put on my comfy walking clothes, got my old ipod for my tunes, my iPhone so I could "Map My Walk" AND my Polar FT4 Heart Monitor!!  I was hooked up!!  I only lasted 27 minutes, but at least got a calorie burn and gave my old metabolism a jump start!!  After my walk (which felt like an hour - I'm so out of shape!), I logged my "cardio" exercise onto My Fitness Pal!!  Oh gee, so I love rubber stamping, I don't really like exercise, but I do love all the apps out there to get you motivated!!  I'm trying, one step at a time...  I have a LONG way to go, I am dedicated to improving my health - let's see what happens!

And the inside of the card!  I left it blank to add your own words..

And the matching envelope - find it in my Etsy store - Schalk's Card Schoppe.

Thanks for stopping by today (and yes I did sneak in a little bit about starting a healthier lifestyle!)

Have a lovely day!!

Love the Here & Now..

Oooohhhh 3 days in a row!!  ( a little late)  Yay!!

Today I'm participating in the Wednesday Stamp Club Sketch Challenge at the My favorite Things blog.

Here is the sketch from My Favorite Things:
And here's my card!  I like this sketch, really creates a nice card, and I used lots of patterned paper (some of my fav colors, turquoise and orange!).

I love this stamp set from My Favorite Things.  It's called LJD Pretty Poppies.  And the poppies are just beautiful, especially when they have glittery turquoise centers!!  The sentiment "Love the Here and Now" is also from My Favorite things - the sentiment is something we need to remember!!

The colors used are Pear Pizazz and Tangerine Tango.  I also used the Copic Spica Glitter Pen in Turquoise.

This card is a bit bigger than I usually make them, it's a 5" x 5" card.  If you're mailing one of these, it's a bit more postage.  Oh man, I hear my hubby getting on the exercise bike, I really need to do that!!  I signed us both up for a 10K (6.2 miles) at the end of August at Disneyland.....  I am in no shape or condition to do this...  If I say it will I do it???   Tomorrow morning I am going to go walk at the park for at least 2 miles!!  I will check in on the next post....something about getting motivated....

Here is the flat laid out view, I don't know why I like these views but I do!  Can you see the glittery dots of the copic markers in the centers of the poppies...  It's very pretty and sparkly!!

And here's the inside of the card, "thinking of you", hmmmmm, maybe this card will get me moving, LOVE the HERE and NOW!!   Make some positive changes!!

Here is the matching envelope!  I'm starting to add these cards to my Etsy Shop, Schalk's Card Schoppe!  If you're looking for a hand-crafted card, please check it out!!  There's a link to the right of this page.
Thank you for stopping by today!  Have an awesome weekend, I will be walking tomorrow morning!!  :-)

I Want This Bicycle!!

Wow!!  2 days in a row!!  Happy Thursday to you!
Today I'm participating the Papertrey Ink's Make it Monday #119 - Flagged Borders.

I created a bicycle that I would like to ride!!  :-)   As you can see, I put my sentiment on the border, and added the flags, I love the colors of this card, especially the flowered paper that I used for the bicycle.

I used the Pedal Pusher's Stamp Set for this happy card!  Oh, it's from Papertrey Ink.   I also used the Pedal Pushers Die Set which makes it sooooo easy to create a really cute bicycle.

And how about that little puppy in the basket??

The colors I used are Summer Starfruit, Coastal Cabana and Pretty in Pink.  Some of the flags are created using washi tape and some are Designer Series Paper.

Thank goodness for the Copic Spica Glitter Pens, I used the clear one for the bicycle spokes, just to add a little sparkle!

Here's the inside of the card, it's a Congratulations card, I think it could be used for a new adventure, maybe a retirement?

And here's the matching envelope, you can fine this card in my Etsy shop, Schalk's Card Schoppe, if you need a "Congratulations" card!!
Than you for stopping by today!  Have a creative day!!

Newsprint Macarons!

Hi!!  Long time no blog post!!  I've been dilly dallying a bit too much and neglecting my blog but I'm back with a cute card today!!
I ordered this stamp set from Simon Says Stamp and I think it's one of the cutest stamp sets!!  The stamp set is called Bonjour and it's from Avery Elle.  Here's the first card I made with it!!

I love stamping on newsprint DSP (it looks like all SU! has now is the First Edition DSP on digital download)., so the macarons are on newsprint.  The fillings are flavored, I'm thinking they are strawberry cream, chocolate and key lime!!

I added a tiny bit of glitter to the filling using a Copic Spica Clear Glitter pen.

All the stamps are from the same stamp set, Bonjour, I like the border they include, I used it along the bottom, stamped on newsprint..

The colors used are Stampin' Ups! new "In Colors" for 2013-2015, Baked Brown Sugar, Crisp Cantaloupe and Pistachio Pudding.  I'm loving these new colors!!  They go sooooooo well together!!!

Here is the inside of the card!  On the inside it say "Ooh La La" and on the inside it says "Have a Sweet Birthday"!!!

Here is the matching envelope that comes with the card!!  You can find the card in my Etsy shop, Schalk's Card Schoppe!!

Thank you for stopping by today!!  It's been awhile, I've missed sharing my cards!!
