Saturday Quickie!

Hi - Happy Weekend to you!!  I just have a quick post today!  Here's another card using the Fancy Folk Art stamp set from Papertrey Ink.  I really really really like this set (ok I LOVE it!)!!

This is one of my favorite color combos also - Gumball Green, Lucky Limeade, Bermuda Bay, Pool Party and Crumb Cake.

For a bit of embellishing I added some rhinestones, pearls and of course a sprinkle of glitter!!

There are matching dies for this set, so you don't have to cut out the stamped image, just run it through your favorite die cutting machine.  I have the Sizzix Big Shot.

This image looks so nice on the die cut and layered circles, it's a perfect fit!!

And the inside of the card, love that Crumb Cake ink on the kraft paper!!

Have a fabulous weekend!  And thank you for stopping by today!!

Fancy Folk Art Favorites

I hope you are having a good day!!  I finally started stamping with the Fancy Folk Art stamp set from Papertrey Ink.  This set is my new favorite!  It's very detailed stamping, made easy with the awesome stamps, AND matching dies!!

I'm sharing one card today, but stay tuned, I'll have a few more using this same design, different colors!

I used the smaller bouquet for a background stamp and stamped it in black on Very Vanilla cardstock - I love the look!!

To stamp this, I chose a piece of patterned paper with colors I like and used the colors for the flowers and leaves.  Patterned paper makes it easy to put color combinations together, the work is done for you!!

The colors used on this card are Poppy Parade, Pretty in Pink, Pool Party, Very Vanilla, Going Gray (for the leaves, with a sprinkle of glitter) and Juniper (ctmh).

I embellished with some red and light teal rhinestones :-) .

Here's the inside of the card!  I love this Folk Art look, my mind is racing with color combinations!!

Thank you for stopping by today!!  Enjoy your day!!

Happy Birthday Honey!!

Happy :-)  Monday to you!!  Today is my honey's birthday, so now he is only 1 year younger than me, instead of 2!!  I met Randy at Hughes Aircraft 20 years ago, we both worked there.  I had just gotten moved to a mechanical engineering group, I was a drafter/designer...  Computers were becoming a big item, and Randy sat at the end of the hall with lots of computers in his office...
I remember one morning almost hitting him head-on in the hallway, at about 7 a.m., a Diet Pepsi in my hand, a regular Pepsi in his....  We were destined to be together (I have since switched to Diet Coke!!).  I won't go into the whole story, but he did proceed to rock my world, and my son's world (who was 9 years old at the time).  He is a kind, generous, loving soul - and has not changed a bit (mmmmmmm a bit of grouchiness here and there, but that's normal).  He is my forever love, and here is the card I made him for his birthday!!

The clouds are from Studio Calico, altho I don't see them for sale anymore.  I use these little clouds a lot, they come in handy!

The airplanes are from the Plane Awesome stamp set with matching dies from Taylored Expressions.

The colors used are Whisper White, Only Orange, Baja Breeze and Summer Starfruit.

I love these airplane stamps, and the matching dies makes it so easy!!  Lots of stamp companies are adding matching dies for their stamps.  No more fussy cutting!!

Well, Randy had to work today and I'm going to pick up his Boston Cream Pie from Marie Calendars.
Thank you for stopping by today!  Have a fabulous Monday!

Something Springy!

Hi!  Seems we have a little break in the holidays......sooooooo here's something a little bit springy!!

I used the Heart to Heart Mini Stamp Set from Papertrey Ink, along with their matching dies.

Something new for me are the  Tim Holtz Spring Limited Edition ink pads (LOVE the colors)!!

For a bit more color and embellishment,  I added some Doodlebug Washi tape  in Swimming Pool.

There's a sprinkle of glitter (of course!) and a pretty vintage colored rhinestone to complete the flowers!

And here is the inside of the card, just to cheer your day!  Keep smiling!!

Thank you for stopping by today for a little bit of spring (even tho it's still winter).

Enjoy your day!

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day to you!  I created this card with the Homespun Hearts set from My Favorite Things stamps.  I have a heart garden here!

I am doing the Wednesday Stamp Club with My Favorite Things today!!  It's a sketch challenge and here is the sketch:
Here is my card:

The colors used are Pretty In Pink, Real Red, Going Gray, Gumball Green and Baja Breeze.

This stamp set has matching dies which makes putting a card together so much quicker!!  The larger hearts are dies, the leaves and stems are cut out with scissors.

I embossed two of the hearts with white embossing powder, I didn't use to emboss much, but I'm liking the "look" of embossed impressions lately!!  It adds a bit of texture to the card!

The touch of Gumball Green for the leaves and stems adds a nice pop of color, and I just love the idea of a heart garden!!

And here is the inside of the card, "will you be Mine"??  (I think he already is since he put a ring on it!!)  Hee Hee!

Best wishes to you for a fabulous Valentine's Day!!  Enjoy the day and eat some of those sugary candy hearts!!

Thank you for stopping by today!

Be Mine & Sixlets!

Hello!!  Today I have another project for the Make It Monday #102: Pillow Box Stamping and Assembly on the {capture the moment} blog.

The challenge this week is to --Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and stamping on an assembled shape like a box or bag--.
Here is my project - using a clear pillow box full of Sixlets in Valentine colors:

I love the clean lines of this "Be Mine" stamp from the With All My Heart Stamp Set from Papertrey Ink.

The scalloped heart cut-out is from the Limitless Layers Heart Dies also from Papertrey Ink.

I added some glitter around the sentiment, and a little bling in the center of that tiny heart, right under the "4-ever"!!

And the Sixlets are so fun to use for holidays now that they come in tons of different colors!  And some of them are shimmery!!  This little picture above will be on my instagram, @schalking.

Thanks again for stopping by today!  Enjoy your day!!

Cutest Cupid Evah!!!

I have had this little stamp set Cupid's Arrow from WPlus9 sitting around waiting to be used for a few weeks now...  I have fallen in love with the little cupid -

First I used the dies that match - Cupid's Arrow Die (on Whisper White card stock), and then stamped using SU!'s Pretty in Pink ink, and I fell in love (appropriate for a Valentine's Day card :-) !  This has got to be the CUTEST little cupid I have ever seen, he/she (?) is so delicate, so tiny and so sweet.

I made a little cupid garland with him/her (?) - is cupid a boy???   And he/she is holding the little heart in a target (reminds me of my favorite store!)!!

I had to add glitter to his/her wings, for a bit of sparkle...  I think this is my new favorite little stamp, this little cupid....

I embossed the "greeting" (from the same stamp set) with white embossing powder, and stamped the "In Love With You" in Primrose Petals, cut it out and layered on top!

Here's the inside of the card, this cupid is a bit bigger but just as cute, but there is just something special about the tiny cupid.  The "Happy Valentine's Day" stamp is from Verve Stamps - No Matter What.

Thank you for stopping by today for the Cutest Cupid Evah!!!  Have a fantastic Saturday!!
