Gold Christmas Angel...

Oh  My Goodness!!
I can't believe how fast time has gone by!  I haven't posted since November 10 - really?  I have been busy, and I'm going to try to share just how much I dilly-dallying I have been up to in the coming week!  Some FUN stuff!

Today's post is driven by Make it Monday #144 - Heat Embossing Vellum on the Capture the Moment blog.  Here is the video for embossing on vellum.

And here is Melissa's card:

She does lovely work, and looking at her cards and projects are like being in a chocolate store!!  Or a macaron bakery!!  Oh, and here is my card:

I didn't have any plain vellum, BUT I did have this gold embossed polka dot vellum - a sneak peek from the Occasions catalog coming out from Stampin' Up! in January.  Also coming in the Occasions catalog is the gold foil paper I used as a layer!  I love the gold, so funny how it has come back into fashion!

This lovely angel is from Papertrey Ink's Love Lives Here stamp set.  It's kinda country and an adorable set, one of my favorites!  So I embossed the angel with gold embossing powder on the gold polka dot vellum, and also embossed her wings in gold on vellum.  I cut out the wings, and slipped them in behind her shoulders, using an x-acto knife to make slits.

The deep green cardstock is Pinefeather, from Papertrey Ink.  Love this beautiful shade of green!

I stamped this sentiment from the Beautiful Blessings - Holiday stamp set in Pinefeather on the inside of the card.

I embellished with a beautiful gold bow (well, I thought it turned out pretty good!) and some gold sequins!

Thank you for stopping by today!  Have a lovely week!!

Glittery Snowman!

Hello & Happy Sunday to you!

Today I have created a card for My Favorite Things Card Sketch #149, and here is the sketch:

And here is my card:

I am just a snowman lover, and this guy has my heart, well you can see the heart up there, it's the polka dot Coastal Cabana heart!!  Anyways, I love snowmen....

This a d o r a b l e snowman with soft pink cheeks (pink chalk) is the  Holiday Hugs Snowman from  My Favorite Things Rubber Stamps.  My Favorite Things has some of the cutest stamps and dies EVER!!!

The colors I used for this snowman are Pool Party, Going Gray, and Winter Frost Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!  Oh!  I aslo used the Silver Glitter from Stampin' Up (how cool is his glittered scarf?) and the Frosted Finishes button is from Stampin' Up!

The glittery Scalloped Border is also from a die from MFTs and even the heart on the inside of the card is a die from MFTs.

I hope you enjoyed stopping by for this Glittery Snowman today!  OH AND DON'T FORGET to check out the other cards submitted for this sketch - they are amazing!!   You can see them right here!
Enjoy!!
Thank you and I appreciate your peek!!
Have a fabulous day!!

Banners & Cupcakes!

Happy Hump Day!

Another challenge for me today...  Today's inspiration is from the The Shabby Tea Room Blog and here is the photo:

The theme for Week 191 is Shabby Fall Party and the challenge rules are to INCLUDE A BANNER, CUPCAKE/CAKE along with ORANGE/YELLOW.

Here is my card:

The stamp set I'm using is called Gobble Gobble and it's from Taylored Expressions.  I love Taylored Expressions "cuppie" stamp sets.  They are all the adorable little "cupcake" characters!!  This one is the turkey, a cupcake disguised as a turkey.  Does it get any cuter??  I don't think so!!

The colors I used are Early Espresso, Tangerine Tango and Crushed Curry.   I also used Stampin' Ups! Sweater Weather Designer Series Paper....  Love this fall combo!!

So I have my turkey cupcake and I had to add my banner, a leaf and twine banner sounds good to me!  I started with orange twine, and tied a few brown twine knots around the orange twine.  The finishing touch to the banner are the leaves, also from the Gobble Gobble stamp set!

Here is the inside of the card, simply stamped in Early Espresso..

Oh, and I added a gold sequin to the top of the turkey's head, there's usually a little circle on top of the  "cuppies" to add a button, rhinestone or a sequin, something to top it off!

The sentiment is a simple Happy Thanksgiving, and this is the time to remember (really all the time) all we are thankful for.

Have a blessed day and thank you for stopping by today!!

What DOES the fox say??

Hello There!

Happy Tuesday AND tell me, what DOES the fox say?  So this silly song by Ylvis is taking the country by storm, maybe the world by storm!  It's a totally goofy song, and after hearing it once again the little fox was on my mind!!  (It's one of those songs that sticks in your head!!)

This foxy card is created for the challenge Make it Monday #139 - Stamped Square Frames, on the Capture the Moment Blog.  Here is Dawn's card, and she also does the instructional video:

The idea of the challenge is to create a square frame using stamps!  My square frame uses stamps from Papertrey Ink's Rosie Posie Stamp Set.   I used the Hexagon shaped border stamps to create the frame, and used Fine Linen, Juniper and Early Espresso inks and cardstock.

The cute little fox is from Papertrey Ink's Little Foxy Mini Stamp Set.  This little fox is the cutest and who knew the fox would become so popular!!  This little fox has blue glitter eyes, because the song says he has blue eyes!!

This was a fun card to make, I think Christmas may have lots of foxy stuff this year.  The fox costume they wear in the video was really popular for Halloween.  I tell ya, when I first saw and heard the song, I think on Ellen, I was like - what the heck??  Is this song for kindergartners!

Anyway.....I hope you enjoyed this fun little card, right now the inside is blank.  I'm going to put it on Etsy - Schalk's Card Schoppe and see what happens, you can add your own sentiment!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  Enjoy your day!!

Christmas Card!

Hello!

It's been awhile, but here I am back with a Christmas Card.   Today I'm participating in the Make it Monday #138 - Inlaid Die-Cuts challenge on the Capture the Moment Blog.  The Inlaid Die-Cuts add a bit of dimension to handmade cards.  I like the look!

Here is the card created by Betsy, she also did the instructional video for the challenge.

And here is my card:

I created with neutral colors today, Kraft, Early Espresso and Fine Linen.

The Inlaid Die-Cut is from the Background Basics Evergreens Die Set, which has a matching Background Basics Evergreens Stamp Set.  First I created a die cut the trees in Fine Linen and then stamped the polkadot trees using Crumb Cake ink.  I love these trees, and will be using them a lot this Christmas!!

The "Peace on Earth" sentiment is embossed with Early Espresso embossing powder.  I've been embossing a lot more recently!  I haven't done this in years (about 20 years!!), but it really does add to the cards and I like the texture it creates!!  The "Peace on Earth" sentiment is from the Tis the Season Sentiments Stamp Set.  I love the fonts used on this sentiments set!  Both stamp sets are from Papertrey Ink.

This is the inside of the card, I added a Kraft die-cut of the trees to the inside, makes it all come together!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  Have an awesome week!!

Embossed Snowflakes!

Hello!

Here's another Make it Monday challenge!!  Today I am doing Capture the Moment's Make it Monday #135, Layered Emboss Resist challenge.  Click on the link above, and you can check out the video on how to do the Layered Emboss Resist.  Here is the card Heather created (she instructs on the video):

I love the butterflies and the way the sentiment pops!
Here is my card:

You can see the snowflakes better below:

For the background I used Papertrey Ink's Background Basics Stitching Stamp set.  This is a great background set, I love using a few different colors, looks like a stitched sweater!

The colors I used are Coastal Cabana, Poppy Parade and Chocolate Chip all from Stampin' Up!..

The snowflakes are from the Snowflake Medley Stamp set, which also has matching dies.

The die cut snowflake frames the "warm winter wishes" greeting, and I added a little poppy twine bow to the snowflake, I'm loving all the colored twines these days!

Inside I used the Instant Photo Holidays Stamp Set from Papertrey Ink.  I love the fonts in this sentiment above.  And I added a little snowflake in Chocolate Chip.

And here's the matching envelope!  I hope you enjoyed this card today, I'm liking this color combination for holiday stamping!

Thank you for stopping by today!  Have a fabulous weekend!!

Taylored Expressions September Studio Challenge!

Oohhh Happy Friday!!

Yay for the weekend!!  Doing anything exciting this weekend??  AND it's the last weekend of SEPTEMBER!!  I have a feeling this holiday season is going to go by way toooooo fast!

Yeah, another challenge for me!  Today I am participating in the Taylored Expressions September Studio Challenge.  Taylored Expressions is one of my top three favorite rubber stamp companies!  I just love the stamps and their gallery of projects!!

The challenge is to create a card using inspiration from one of the Taylored Expressions Pinterest Board.  While you're checking that out, why don't you follow me on Pinterest also, you can do that right here!  I got my inspiration from this pin!  It's from Taylor's Birthday Inspiration board.
On to the card:

I don't know about you, but I am a CANDY LOVER!!  All kinds of candy, but most of all milk chocolate with nuts,  or anything PEANUT BUTTER!!  My absolute FAVORITE for Halloween is the Reeses Peanut Butter Pumpkin!  I haven't had one yet this year, I'm in trouble!  OK back to the card!  I used Taylored Expressions Candy Monster Stamp Set.

How cute is this guy?  He is also perfect as a Halloween Candy Monster, but this card is for a birthday!  You could give it to your Candy Lover friend, we all have one!

The colors I used are Only Orange, Island Indigo, Daffodil Delight, Wild Wasabi and Whisper White.

And how about those piles of candy?  I could handle that, it also makes the card look so happy!!  Any candy lover would LOVE this card!  Looking at those piles also makes me think of Halloween, dumping out the Halloween bags.

Here is the inside of the card, with a bit of lollipop embellishment, and below is the matching envelope!

This was another fun challenge!

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today!  And if you want some more eye candy, don't forget to check out the other cards on Taylor's Blog.

Enjoy your weekend!

Papertrey Ink September Blog Hop!

Hi There!

Today is Papertrey Ink's Blog Hop on the Capture the Moment Blog.  The challenge is to include a wreath, any type of wreath for any season.  I chose a Papertrey Ink Stamp Set called Birds and Blooms.   It's a really cute stamp set with a wreath, birds, a nest, eggs for the nest and of course flowers to fill in the wreath!  Oh and sentiments too!  Here is my card for the blog hop:

First you stamp the wreath, then you stamp three different sets of flowers, it turns out so cute as you can see here!  The little bird and the nest with eggs....  Cute overload!!  I definitely had the fall season in mind while I was stamping this card..

The colors I used are Crumb Cake, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Only Orange, Dusty Durango, Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla.

I love this sentiment also, "With a Grateful Heart", and then inside "Wishing You all the Best" - it could be used as a wedding card, or a card for someone starting a new phase of their life!

Here is the inside of the card, and below is the matching envelope!

Thank you for stopping by today, don't forget to check out all the other cards submitted for this Blog Hop, there are some beauties!!

Enjoy your day!!

I love snowmen!

Ohhhh hello!  (I see this on rubber stamps all the time & I like it!)

Well, another day, another challenge!!  AND it's another Papertrey Ink challenge on the Capture the Moment blog.   Today's challenge is Make it Monday #133 -

Creating a Flocked Look with Dimensional Paste

Here are the cards made by Danielle Flanders:

I love the look of these cards, you can see the flocked look here, she used a polka dot template, check out the blog and you can see how she does it in a video.

Here is my card:

I used the Winter Snow Globe Stamp Set from Papertrey Ink.  How cute is that snowman?  One of my favorites!!  The stamp set also comes with a really cute Santa, and a cute Christmas Tree.  And the cutest little sentiments!  One of my favorite holiday stamp sets!!

I stuck with the neutral colors here, and used the Hexagon Cover Plate Die as my template for the flocked look!  I used a "thinner" medium, but may have to pick up a thicker one at Michaels later this week!  It does give a very cool texture.  I used Gesso on this card. and mixed in a bit of Folkart Extreme Glitter paint (since I am a total glitter girl)!.

After I spread the gesso/paint combo over my template, and removed the template, I dusted with a bit of a chunkier glitter - snow!!

My snowglobe does have a piece of thin acrylic over it, to give it the snowglobe look, it's kind of hard to see here, but it added another bit of dimension.  I also embellished with a kraft colored button, some natural twine and some Stampin' Up! Burlap Ribbon!!  Soooooo even tho fall has just begun, here is a bit of winter cheer for you!!

Thank YOU for stopping by today, don't forget to stop by the Capture the Moment blog to check out the other cards posted to this challenge.

Have a fabulous day!!
