Birthday Boy Spaceship Card!

Good Morning and a Happy Day to you!!

Oh I've neglected my blog, too much going on the past few weeks, but hopefully getting back to some stamping this week!  The best part of the holidays was having my son and his family here fro Washington!  It was my Grandson's Birthday on the 22nd, he turned 5!!

Here he is at the Grand Californian character breakfast at Disneyland:

And here's the family:

His birthday is 8 days before mine, and mine is today!!  I was almost 50 when he was born, so that's how I remember my age (ha ha!), he turned 5 on December 22, I turned 55 today!!  Oh My Goodness!!!  I feel so blessed!!

Here is the birthday card I made for Ryan, I've love this Blast Off stamp set by Stampin' Up!

The colors I used are Island Indigo, Real Red, Marina Mist, Gumball Green, Whisper White and Daffodil Delight!

He really liked it when he opened it!

I realized also that I could have circled the "5" in the blast off countdown, since he turned 5, but I did add the number there also!

I used a clear mylar for the window of the space ship for a little added texture!

Thank you for stopping by today, I hope you had a wonderful holiday, and that you will have a Blessed and Safe New Year!  Hopefully I'll be back to my blogging!!   HAPPY 2013!!

Jingle All the Way {on a bike!}

Have you ever seen a bicycle strewn with Christmas lights?  And a tree?   This bicycle stamp has a little Christmas tree in the basket, and Christmas lights decorating the bicycle!!

The background is texture embossed, looks like tons of little snowflakes!  There is a teeny tiny bit of glitter on those teeny tiny Christmas lights!

The colors used are Whisper White, a touch of Basic Grey in the background paper and some Gumball Green for the sentiment tag.

I cut the bicycle out, and used a bit of color for the lights with markers.

I love the little tree in the basket, it's those little details..

And the sentiment and bicycle are stamped on the inside of the card, I just love simply stamping, sometimes that's all you need!!

Have a creative day AND thank YOU for stopping by today!!

Reindeer Food..

Hello and Happy Beginning of the Week to you!!  December 3rd already!!  I love this stamp set from  Taylored Expressions called Reindeer Food.

Oh and I love photo apps too, adding the sparkles and decor to the photos adds a little somethin' somethin'!!

For this "fast and easy" care I just stamped the reindeer in Bermuda Bay right on the decorated paper, added a little sentiment "Believe" and added the red rhinestone to Rudolph!

This would also make a great Christmas card, fast and easy is the key to making lots of the same cards!

The reindeer are just frolicking along the card front.....

The colors used are Very Vanilla and Bermuda Bay.

The sentiment inside is the "instructions" for the Reindeer Food, and I also added the "instructions" as a tag.

The faux Reindeer Food is some Coach's Oats, some sprinkly fake snow glitter, some glass glitter, glitter and a little bit more glitter!

Thank you for stopping by today, have a funtastic day!

Rhinestone Snowflakes!

Good Morning and Happy Friday!

I've always loved Penny Black stamps and I remember them back when I first started stamping, that would be about 1992??  A long time ago!!  It is a hobby for me, and I love it!!

How cute is this image??  It's called Polar Mimi.  The polar bear is adorable (I love bears) and Mimi is such a cutie, I think of my grand-daughter Ella.

All the rhinestones are snow drops, Mimi is paper pieced and the polar bear has been generously glittered!!

The colors I used are Primrose Petals, Whisper White and Gumball Green.  The decorator paper is from October Afternoon (LOVE it!).

And you'll notice the card it shaped, I used nesting dies from Lifestyle Crafts, called Nesting Pinking Squares Dies, kind of a different look.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today!  Have a fabulous Friday!!

Holly Jolly!

Thank you for stopping by my blog today!  I have been pinning like crazy, check out my pins here!
I tell ya, I get started on Pinterest, and it's hard to stop!!  It's kind of like going to the candy store, but no calories!!  Lately, I've been pinning lots of Christmas ideas!  I must give you this warning - Pinterest is HIGHLY addictive - my name is Kristy and I AM a PIN-AHOLIC.  :-0

That's my little talk about PINTEREST - I love it, yes, I do waste time - no it's not a waste of time if you enjoy it!  On to the card!!  This stamp set is from Papertrey Ink and it's called Holiday Button Bits.

I used this same stamp set the other day for the Gingerbread Man card.

The label set is also from Papertrey Ink and it is called Framed Out #8 Mini stamp set.  Oh and both stamp sets have matching dies - so no scissors - LOVE THAT!

I love the traditional red and green on this card, there is also a shade of pink in the patterned paper, and it just fits right in!  The idea of the Button Bits stamp set is - it leaves a space or two for buttons!  And who doesn't love buttons!?

And here is the inside of the card, a warm winter sentiment!
Enjoy your day today!!

The Shabby Tea Room - Guest Designer

Today I am a Guest Designer for The Shabby Tea Room.   I am a past winner for  Week 130, and won the opportunity to be a guest designer!!  This is exciting for me, since I'm relatively new to the blogging world!!  Hey, it's the little things in life sometimes that put the smiles on our faces :-)

This card is for Week 142, "Just Neutrals" - create a card or project inspired by the attached photo using JUST NEUTRALS, RIBBON and A SENTIMENT.

Here is the photo for the colors:

And here is the card I created:

It's so fun doing these challenges, and if you want to see some beautiful cards, go check out this challenge at The Shabby Tea Room, you won't be disappointed!

With the focus on keeping it "neutral" I used Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake and Sahara Sand for my colors.

The stamp set and dies I used are from Papertrey Ink and they're called Layered Postmarks - Holiday.

I used some cream colored burlap as the hill that the trees are growing on, and some neutral ribbons and lace for the tops of the trees!  The sentiment is a little banner on linen thread, and there are stars in the sky, and glitter has been sprinkled on the trees.

I kept the inside of the card neutral also, and carried the "shabby" theme through-out!  It's a totally shabby, vintage looking card, and I had a lot of fun on this challenge!!

Thank you for stopping by, and I tell ya, you will NOT be disappointed if you check out the cards at The Shabby Tea Room.

Have a fantastic day today!

Don't Forget the Gingerbread Man!!

Oh I just had to do this Shabby Tea Room challenge, so two cards today!
Here is the inspiration picture:

And the TIC-TAC-TOE chart:

The three-in-a-row I used are the buttons, pearls/gems and mini tag.  The gems are the eyes, I used some little black rhinestones.  The buttons are obvious :-) and the mini tag says "merry", and for back-up there's a mini hunter green tag, and a mini red tag.

This stamp set is called Holiday Button Bits and it's from Papertrey Ink.

I went with the darker colors in the inspiration photo, the dark brown (wood look paper), Hunter Green, Real Red and Crumb Cake.

The wood look paper really gives it a rustic look!  (Can gingerbread men be rustic?  This guy can!)

And the inside sentiment is "merry and bright", perfect for the holidays!

Thank you for stopping by today AND please stop by again tomorrow, MONDAY, where I am a Guest Designer for The Shabby Tea Room!  My first time as a Guest Designer - and yes, I am excited!

I hope you enjoyed this card!  Have a fantastic Sunday!!

Cover Art Inspiration...

Greetings!  Today I created a card for the Cover Art Inspiration Challenge put on by Papertrey Ink's {Capture the Moment} blog.  The challenge is to select one of these book covers, and use it as inspiration to create a really unique project.
I chose the Great Expectations cover, and was inspired by the colors of the cover.  I used the black and gray hues as my main colors, and added that little touch of pink, incorporating it into a Christmas card using Papertrey Ink's Winter Hills Stamp Set.

The colors used are Whisper White, Basic Black, Basic Gray and Pixie Pink!

The colors give you a "trendy" look, a bit on the modern side for Christmas.

Also inspired by the cover is the "block" design, the letters on the cover stand out, they're in blocks, and I tried to keep that pattern on my card.  And I just love that little snowman stamp :-)

It's fun to take the colors from a magazine layout, or fabric, or wrapping paper and then use them in a card.  I LOVE the gift wrap section at Target, and will often snap a picture of one of their gift bags for the color combo (photo serves as memory!).  The colors (at Target) are usually trendy and make a great handmade card!!

I continued the blocky look for the sentiment inside using Papertrey Ink's Happiest of Holidays stamp set.

Thank you for stopping by today, maybe you've found some ideas on where to get crafty designs from!!
Have a lovely Sunday!
