Tea Time Mother's Day Cards

Hello and Happy Thursday almost Friday!!  Is it time to start thinking about Mother's Day?  I think it is time, still a little early, but we can think about it.  :-)
I'm going to take my mom to a little Tea Shop in downtown Orange called Paris in a Cup!  I'm soooooo excited, I love having tea with all the goodies that go with it!!
And with Mother's Day coming up, I finally opened up my little card shop on Etsy and I'm calling it Schalk's Card Schoppe (my son's idea!)!!  We'll see how it goes, just a fun little hobby for me!!  I've added the two cards I show here, Tea Time Mother's Day Cards!

The colors I used on both cards are Pool Party, So Saffron and Peach Parfait.  I'm hooked on this color combo and the designer scrap paper that got me going here is My Mind's Eye - Collectable.  Love this 6 x 6 set of papers!!

The stamps and dies are Taylored Expressions Tea-riffic.  So cute!!  I also added a little charm from Stampin' Up! called Tea Time Trinkets.  They're so cute, I want to order more and make a bracelet with them!!  The little Happy Mother's Day tag is also from Taylored Expressions, the stamp set is Many Minis - Holidays and the tag die is Designer Mini Tags.

Here is the inside of the card,

and the matching envelope!

And this is card #2, using the same colors and all the same items I used for card #1 above!

The charm here is a tea cup (tea mug?).

And the inside of this card, and the matching envelope shown below.

I hope you enjoyed my post today, and the cards I'm sharing!  Thank you so much for stopping by, and have a fabulous day!

Cookies & Cakepops!

Well hello and HAPPY FRIDAY to you!!!  It is Good Friday today, and I do thank God daily for all the blessings in my life......
I've been busy baking, cookie decorating and cake-popping the past few days!!  I enjoy this all so much, but it does take time!!  Lots of time!!  The results are yummy and oh so cute!!!

Here are my finished goodies:

These cute bunny face cake pops are funfetti vanilla inside, with added sprinkles!

And these wacky chick pops are lemon inside!  Totally yummy!!  I also decorated a few in the background, with jelly bellys and sprinkles, they are just so festive, I kinda just like looking at them  :-)

Then I out-lined all the cookies, I am in crafty heaven when I do this.........ahhhhhhhh.

These cookie cutters are from Sweet Dani B (so are the sheep and chicks).  They ARE the cutest, and these are nice and big, and easy to decorate!!  I followed Sweet Dani B's decor ideas, and used the jelly bellys!!  Can these bunnies in the cracked egg get any happier or cuter???

So bright and colorful, and the jelly bellys add a little different texture to the cookie, and I must say, I kinda like it!

And here is Peter Cottontail!

And some sweet little bunnies, ummmm, most of these bunnies lost their ears, I don't think I will use this cutter next year!!  Their ears broke off too easily!!

More of Peter Cottontail, all dressed up and ready for Easter!

These chicks/birdies are so darn cute!  This cookie cutter along with the sheep below are from Sweet Dani B.  The chicks are just iced and sprinkles are added!!  Yum!

And I just love these sheep.....They're kind of primitive looking and just adorable!!  On the Sweet Dani B website, she added the marshmallows!  Some of my sheep are just sprinkled with jimmies, one has the large sugar chunks, there are marshmallows, and one has pina colada jelly bellys cut in half as the added texture!

Thank you for stopping by and checking out my blog today!  The past couple of days were so fun creating all these goodies!  I love all the little details!  I shipped some up to my kids and grandkids, I hope they make it without breaking!!  And my family will enjoy the rest of them on Easter Sunday.
If you are interested in the recipes for the cookies or the icing, leave me a comment, and I will post the recipes!!  Have a lovely Easter!!  He is Risen!!

Sequins & Stamping (& cute Easter tags!)

Hi friends!

I decided to participate in the March 2013 Blog Hop for Papertrey Ink.  The challenge is to use "sequins".   Do you remember those?  I use to use them a lot when I made felt Christmas ornaments, and lately they've been appearing on clothes!  They add a little sparkle to everything, but I had never used them with my card-making!
And I didn't use them on cards, but I did use them on some cute Easter tags!

I started with Pretty in Pink and Pool Party cardstock....

For these tags I used the Papertrey Ink Tag Sale #3 die.  It has a cute circular reinforcement to make sure the ribbon hole doesn't rip when you tie your tags on to items.

The stamp set I used is super cute!!  It's Papertrey Ink's Scrambled Eggs Stamp Set.  This bunny is glittered all over, and the sequins are actually a light pink.  I think I like them used as embellishments!

I used turquoise blue sequins on this cracked egg.  And they're easy to cut with scissors, so I was able to shape them to the egg.

I also glittered the border of this tag, Easter can be such a cute crafting holiday!

Love this bunny stamp, it's just the cutest!!

I really enjoyed this challenge, and will be adding sequins to my stamping projects!  You can't have too many embellisments or too much sparkle!!

Thank you for stopping by my blog today, now I have to run and add this to the link up before it's closed!!

Have a nice evening!!

Bunny Time!

Hello Friends!

Today I'm going to share 4 cards I made using Papertrey Ink's $5 stamp set called Polka Dot Parade #1.  There is also a matching die for the bunny!

I just love this mini stamp set, the bunny is so cute and perfect for your Easter or Spring cards!

Here they are:

Yes, pink grass, sprinkled with glitter, and a yellow fluffy bunny tail!

Nice and bright bunnies, feels like spring!!

I think this is the only "perfect" bow I have ever done!! :-)

Love this color combo, Crumb cake and Primrose Petals.

And a fluffy tail on this one too!

I hope you enjoyed this little bunny hop today!  Thank you for stopping by today!!

Saturday Quickie!

Hi - Happy Weekend to you!!  I just have a quick post today!  Here's another card using the Fancy Folk Art stamp set from Papertrey Ink.  I really really really like this set (ok I LOVE it!)!!

This is one of my favorite color combos also - Gumball Green, Lucky Limeade, Bermuda Bay, Pool Party and Crumb Cake.

For a bit of embellishing I added some rhinestones, pearls and of course a sprinkle of glitter!!

There are matching dies for this set, so you don't have to cut out the stamped image, just run it through your favorite die cutting machine.  I have the Sizzix Big Shot.

This image looks so nice on the die cut and layered circles, it's a perfect fit!!

And the inside of the card, love that Crumb Cake ink on the kraft paper!!

Have a fabulous weekend!  And thank you for stopping by today!!

Fancy Folk Art Favorites

I hope you are having a good day!!  I finally started stamping with the Fancy Folk Art stamp set from Papertrey Ink.  This set is my new favorite!  It's very detailed stamping, made easy with the awesome stamps, AND matching dies!!

I'm sharing one card today, but stay tuned, I'll have a few more using this same design, different colors!

I used the smaller bouquet for a background stamp and stamped it in black on Very Vanilla cardstock - I love the look!!

To stamp this, I chose a piece of patterned paper with colors I like and used the colors for the flowers and leaves.  Patterned paper makes it easy to put color combinations together, the work is done for you!!

The colors used on this card are Poppy Parade, Pretty in Pink, Pool Party, Very Vanilla, Going Gray (for the leaves, with a sprinkle of glitter) and Juniper (ctmh).

I embellished with some red and light teal rhinestones :-) .

Here's the inside of the card!  I love this Folk Art look, my mind is racing with color combinations!!

Thank you for stopping by today!!  Enjoy your day!!

Happy Birthday Honey!!

Happy :-)  Monday to you!!  Today is my honey's birthday, so now he is only 1 year younger than me, instead of 2!!  I met Randy at Hughes Aircraft 20 years ago, we both worked there.  I had just gotten moved to a mechanical engineering group, I was a drafter/designer...  Computers were becoming a big item, and Randy sat at the end of the hall with lots of computers in his office...
I remember one morning almost hitting him head-on in the hallway, at about 7 a.m., a Diet Pepsi in my hand, a regular Pepsi in his....  We were destined to be together (I have since switched to Diet Coke!!).  I won't go into the whole story, but he did proceed to rock my world, and my son's world (who was 9 years old at the time).  He is a kind, generous, loving soul - and has not changed a bit (mmmmmmm a bit of grouchiness here and there, but that's normal).  He is my forever love, and here is the card I made him for his birthday!!

The clouds are from Studio Calico, altho I don't see them for sale anymore.  I use these little clouds a lot, they come in handy!

The airplanes are from the Plane Awesome stamp set with matching dies from Taylored Expressions.

The colors used are Whisper White, Only Orange, Baja Breeze and Summer Starfruit.

I love these airplane stamps, and the matching dies makes it so easy!!  Lots of stamp companies are adding matching dies for their stamps.  No more fussy cutting!!

Well, Randy had to work today and I'm going to pick up his Boston Cream Pie from Marie Calendars.
Thank you for stopping by today!  Have a fabulous Monday!
